Thank You For Your Support!
The past nine months have been truly incredible. I began this unlikely journey for public office with nothing but a sense of eternal hope and an eagerness to work hard.
My goal was to engage ordinary citizens like you and me and to encourage them to participate in our civic process to make our government work for all of us. I wanted to bring together people from all backgrounds and viewpoints to identify common problems and to seek pragmatic and realistic solutions together.
Our campaign was based on positive ideas and a vision for a brighter future. We focused on fundamentals of grassroots organizing. We knocked on tens of thousands of doors. We made thousands more phone calls. We went to every corner of our district to meet voters face to face and to share our enthusiasm for public service. We gained the trust of voters, one person at a time.
On Tuesday, November 3, the voters of the 35th District made their choice.
I am deeply humbled and honored to have been elected as a new member of the Virginia House of Delegates. When I am sworn in on Wednesday, January 13, 2010, I will proudly represent the people of Vienna, Oakton, Dunn Loring and Fairfax in the oldest continuous law-making body in the New World.
I want to thank all the voters who came out on Tuesday, as well as my family, staff and hundreds of volunteers who made this journey possible. Words are simply not enough to express my appreciation for all you have done for me over the past several months.
I also want to thank Jim Hyland who was not only a worthy opponent but a personal friend and a dedicated civic leader. It was a pleasure to have competed in this contest with Jim and I look forward to working with him to seek common solutions for our community together.
No matter where we came from or what we believe, we are all headed toward a common destiny that we have the opportunity to shape together. I hope you will continue to join me on this incredible journey forward. Please return to our website often for updates on our progress.
Sincerely,

Mark Keam
